 Heero Technologies™ is thrilled to announce that it has made several new appointments in recent months. Read on to learn more about the new members of our team.

Bethany O’Connor – Business Development Manager

Bethany’s role involves building and fostering relationships with banks, building societies and other financial services and, as the energy landscape is constantly and rapidly evolving, keeping them educated and informed.

She has extensive experience as a mortgage adviser and holds both a Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP) and Certificate in Regulated Equity Release (CeRER) qualification. In addition to her role at Heero, Bethany is Director of Professional Mortgage Advisers Ltd.

“It is becoming increasingly important for homeowners to take action to make their homes more energy efficient. I am excited to be part of the Heero team as we provide an exciting, forward thinking, one stop shop solution for banks and building societies to help their clients achieve this,” she says.

Bethany is married and has a young son.

David Sugden – Software Developer

David is a full stack developer and MERN stack expert with experience designing, developing and implementing applications. He is responsible for developing the Heero App and portal, and creating new features based on commercial and client requirements.

Initially working as a freelancer, the educator turned software developer jumped at the chance to join Heero Technologies. “I am incredibly excited to be part of the Heero team as I not only get to contribute to an app that has a positive impact on home energy efficiency, but also because of the role the company is playing in the cleantech revolution.”

David is engaged and enjoys keeping fit and going for long walks along the coast with his fiancée.

Philip Sellwood CBE – Investor Director

Philip was CEO of the Energy Saving Trust from 2003 to 2020. During that time, he undertook work for all UK Administrations and has represented the UK as part of the European Energy Network, twice serving as President. He was awarded a CBE in the 2020 Queens Honours List for services to public policy.  

In addition to his new role at Heero Technologies, Philip is Chair of the Zemo Partnership, he advises numerous companies in the private sector, and he is a member of several Government bodies in the academic research sector. He is also Chair of the Board of Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd and a non-executive director of the Local Government Innovation and Improvement Board. Additionally, he is the inaugural Chair of the Zero Carbon Academy.  

Moreover, Philip is a founder trustee of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, a global charity committed to promoting the development of the circular economy. He is also a Fellow of both the Royal Society of Arts and the British Institute of Management.

“As the Investor Director for Heero, I represent both The TRICAPITAL Syndicate LLP and my personal investment in the platform. This role holds particular significance for me as it will be my first experience in such a capacity, presenting a fresh opportunity for growth and learning. I am driven by the desire to contribute to the venture and to learn from this unique experience,” Philip Sellwood.
